Title of Design: Jet’ Pendent Light Diffusser (Cool Color Tone)
Designer: Chan Pui Yee
School: The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

More than 2,450,000 magazines are produced and discarded every month in Hong Kong. Because of the varieties of materials and special paper coatings that are used, such magazines are not easily recycled.
This is a pendant light diffuser made from these magazines being fixed by resin.  In view of the colors and coatings, beautiful shadow patterns appear on the wall to enhance spatial impressions, when the light is on.  They are hand-made from different magazines so that every piece is unique while old materials are reused.

Title of Design: Cubes
Designer: Yu Chi Ting Ivy
School: Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Shatin)

This pendant is developed based on cube patterns.  The structure of the pendant is formed by two scales of cubes in two levels.  Its appearance is like a classic chandelier.  But acrylic is used instead of crystal.  This will have a more modern and neat feeling.  And it can give us a new impression on chandeliers.

Title of Design: Infinity Possibility
Designer: Wong Sze Wing
School: Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Shatin)

My design is called'' Infinity possibility''.  I try to use the infinity symbol (the loop
shape) to symbolize the future, which is a never-ending prospect.  No one can predict what the future will look like.

My design is a ceiling lamp.
The whole light is made of 2 types of acrylic plastics, one being thick milky white and the other being thin transparent one.  Light emits from the top of a rectangular shaped light box containing 3 lights to a transparent acrylic loop structure, and light will be reflected by curve lines and a smooth surface.  The whole light seems invisible, which represents the future is unreachable.

Title of Design: Reflection
Designer: Fan Cheuk Hang
School: Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Shatin)

At present, we have modern and developed lightings because people of former times have passed on their wisdom to us.   Along with the progress of time, lots of old products have changed into new looks.  So I hope to deduce my product in a new way.  Choosing reflection to be the key design, because it is one of the characteristics of light that mankind knew how to use at the earliest.

Designer: Ho Chui Man
School: Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Shatin)

Geometry, structure, mechanics are three main factors that bring about human’s wisdom.
”Mirage” is supported by three metallic stands that serve to hold a gigantic sphere to express the coldness of metal.  Once the sphere reverses, light will project the scenic spots of different countries, just like connecting the whole world and reflecting the glittering lights, bringing hopes and dreams to your sight.
